3 Tips for Getting in Your Zone

home_puzzle_resized_500Whether working as a real estate agent, a mortgage broker or as the CEO of a real estate investing company, in order to be highly productive and to stay motivated you need to be in your zone.

Negativity and distractions are your greatest enemy and no matter how much of an optimist you are, they can burst your bubble in a flash.

So what plans do you have in place to ensure your zone isn’t invaded on a daily basis? Here are three ways real estate investors and real estate agents can defend against these threats:

1. Start Right

A bad start to the day is hard to rebound from and you can’t afford too many wasted days or the negative effects will snowball and pull your real estate business and income down. Knowing how to bounce back is good, but ensuring a great start is better.

So take the time to get in your zone early whether it is reading your goals, listening to empowering music or exercise. Then avoid the potential hazards by limiting the need to commute or the mayhem that occurs if you are the one delegated to drive a car full of kids to school.

2. Escape to Your Cave

Networking and making new connections is essential to growing your business as a real estate investor or agent but there is a time for that and a time to focus and get real deal making work done.

So block the distractions out and escape to your cave to get your best work done. This can be a home office providing you have sound proofing and a lock on the door. Otherwise look for office space even if it is a small private office or executive suite.

3. Get a Gatekeeper

One of the biggest challenges real estate professionals face in their marketing is making past the gatekeepers other professionals use to protect their own bubbles to increase their productivity. So get your own.

This can be a tough receptionist that won’t fall for any slick lines from sales people trying to get through to pitch you, a virtual assistant that screens your emails or even just voicemail or electrifying your office door knob to keep pesky individuals at bay.
